Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I ate at Conquistador and honestly had a fantastic experience from start to finish. I ordered the burrito supreme and it absolutely lived up to the title. This was not a small burrito. It was huge, loaded with rice, beans, and well-seasoned meat, then covered in melted cheese and topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole. Every bite was hearty and packed with flavor, the kind of meal you slow down for because you don’t want it to end. Portions here are no joke, you definitely get fed. Chips and salsa came out right away at no extra charge, which I always appreciate. The chips were warm and crisp, the salsa had great flavor, and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. The staff at Conquistador were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent without ever feeling rushed. I felt taken care of the whole time. The restaurant itself is worth mentioning too. Conquistador is decorated beautifully, bright colors everywhere, piñatas and decorations hanging from the ceiling, artwork on the walls, and lots of personality in every direction. It has that fun, lively atmosphere that just puts you in a good mood the moment you walk in. For the quality and the portion sizes, the prices are a really good value. I left full, happy, and already thinking about what I want to try next time. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food that tastes great, fills you up, and gives you a colorful and welcoming place to enjoy it, Conquistador delivers in a big way.

This restaurant serves more than 120 unique dishes. The chips are always served hot with fabulous salsa. The owner and chef, Jose, specializes in catering as well. Everything is made from scratch and it is as authentic as you will find. If you ask what their secret is, Jose will show you his wall of spices in the kitchen.

Had the carne asada and it was very good in the makeshift tacos I made with the corn tortillas; I also had orange juice which was great. The waitress was very nice.
