Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We arrived right when it opened. We had made a reservation for my friend's birthday, which made the experience even more special. The winery offered a wonderful selection of wines and cocktails to enjoy. For starters, we shared the Sweet Calamari appetizer. I enjoyed a Pineappletini, along with a cup of Shrimp and Lobster Bisque, and for lunch dish, I had Dana's Parmesan Chicken. The drinks were delightful, and the food was really delicious. What truly made our first visit to Cooper's memorable was the fantastic service. Dustin was exceptionally friendly and had a great knowledge of the menu and drinks. His suggestions were perfect, and we genuinely appreciated his warm and attentive care. Thanks so much, Dustin! We had a lovely time catching up and appreciated the outstanding service.

From reading the reviews it seems you either love this place or hate it... The in betweens are really just petty complaints... My first experience here was fabulous... Ambiance was great... Not too loud yet vibin'... Our first server was fantastic... She ended up passing us off to another server because she had to set up for a party that was coming in... No big deal... Our second server was fine but not as exuberant as the first... We were offered a complimentary taste of the house wine which was quite good... It was my wife's birthday so we had celebratory cocktails... I tried the strawberry mule (great ginger beer flavor) not served in a copper mug which was a bit surprising... My wife had the pineapple martini which comes garnished with a chunk of pineapple... Could've been a little stronger for a tini but still tasty!!! (of course I tried it)... We started with the sweet chili calamari and the Thai lettuce wraps... Both top notch... They tempura the calamari which is the first time I've had it that way and it was bomb along with the sweet chili sauce...very tender pieces and a good portion size for $20...the lettuce wraps honestly could be a main course dish... They do it sort of charcuterie style... You add all the ingredients to the lettuce wrap as you see fit giving many different combinations and flavor pairings... Three different sauces... Well flavored chicken... Slaw... Cucumber salad and crunchys... Honestly we were getting full from the appetizers so we had them wrapped to take home... Didn't want to completely spoil our dinner...my wife did the skirt steak and I had the mahi mahi... She was very pleased with the flavors however I didn't try hers since I was getting full... The mahi mahi was prepared perfect on top of a bed of Mary's potatoes and capers along with some perfectly roasted broccoli... I ate every bite because it all married so well I just couldn't stop... Best piece of fish I've had since our anniversary in Jamaica!!! I could also go off on the yummy little pretzel roll we had but I digress... Back to the dinner and drinks... Sizes were spot on for the price... Drinks were well made but slightly over priced (as always in Illinois)... Appetizers were phenomenal and we were too full for dessert... Servers were attentive but not pushy and the whole wine thing is cool and will be explored more at a later date... The decor is pleasing to the eye and the food is pleasing to the pallet... I give it an 8.9/10...now it's the true test of any good experience... Can they replicate... Consistency is the difference between frequenting an establishment or just putting it in the rotation. Peace out foodies!!!

Extraordinary is a word I would use in this case, wonderful staff with amazing knowledge of their products. Absolutely brilliant establishment with tasteful decor, complimenting it's surroundings and finally, the food I tasted in the restaurant was by far the best I've had so far in America..if you live near or far, make the effort to treat yourself here, you won't be disappointed.
