Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

It is restaurant week in KC, an opportunity for establishments to put their best foot forward. Cooper’s Hawk missed. First, our server, George, was excellent: attentive, accurate, and friendly. But our first course showed up well before the drinks (one star gone, in my system). The restaurant did not anticipate the crowds for the week (but shouldn’t the volume of reservations informed on that?). The food was ‘meh’. The crab, shrimp, and lobster bisque had two very small shrimp and what may have been tiny amounts of crab; the flavor was good though. Both our entrees were on the salty side. My gnocchi carbonara was saucy; the classic dish coats the pasta with rich egg/cheese flavor but has no sauce. If you want chicken Madeira, I recommend you go to the Cheesecake Factory, where it was invented. Yes, the dark chocolate truffle to end the meal was fantastic. Still, another place to which we don’t need to return. Too bad.

My husband made reservations here for Valentine’s Day. This place is so nice and has so many wine and food options. The food was amazing, the staff was super nice, and it was very busy! My 1 year old son came with us too and they were very attentive and the food was delicious! We ordered the calamari, southwest egg roll wrap, ahi tuna steak bites, pork chop pretzel crust and shrimp and scallop risotto. Can’t wait to come back again and try other foods on the menu.

Started the evening with a wine tasting with Aaron- who was attentive and very personable- amazing customer service! We then had dinner in the dining room, our sever Valencia- again very personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening! A+ for the service team ! The managers were very attentive, not for only our experience but others as well! The food cans out perfectly!!
