I have never had a bad meal at a Cracker Barrel before. I should have known better than to stray from the tried and true menu. Had the "Fish Fry" after the waitress said it was 2 fillets of cod. I had 4 pieces of thin breaded fish that looked like thin tail sections. Mostly batter and Im sure one of them was catfish because it was mushy like catfish always is. The others were larger flake but thin pieces. Ordered double okra (my favorite side). Old stock, medium warm and soggy. Ordered a shareable fried pickle plate. Those were good and plenty of them. Water to drink. Writing this review after eating what I could in less than 5 minutes before I gave up on this meal. No refill offered even on water...just asked if I was ready for the check. Not busy at all and plenty of waiters/waitresses running around. Not sure what's up but won't be back to this location. To be clear, the waitress was pleasant, just not very aware. That happens though. Then a person who I believe was probably a manager did a walk around and asked how everything was. I was honest and let her know that I've never had a bad meal ever at a Cracker Barrel but the fish was pretty bad. Thin, end pieces, mostly breading, in one piece very likely catfish where is the other pieces were very likely cod. I let her know that the okra was barely warm and soft or undercooked. Told her the fried pickles were very good but I gave up on the meal and should have ordered something else. I was pretty greased out so definitely not hungry and not hunting for a free meal of which was never offered or even insinuated by her either. We probably talked for a good 5 minutes about the meal and how it was a bad idea to order Cod down here in Louisiana in the first place. I did finally get my requested second glass of water to try and wash down some of the Grease and left disappointed. Again, everyone at this location was very pleasant. It was nothing other than a bad meal experience. The photo is the food left on the table when I left.

Our server, Patience, was very sweet and prompt on refills and food updates. The biscuits were good, especially after we got some honey. We got the pickle chips and white cheese bites for the apps and both were crunchy, hot, and delicious. The chicken fried steak was very good and crunchy. I don't like the fried apples hot, but they make a great cold dessert later on. The chicken and dumpling soup was barely warm when it was dropped off, but I also intended to eat that later so I didn't mind, and the taste was good. The strawberry peach lemonade is a good combination of tart and sweet, while the peach lemonade is just very sweet. I would recommend both depending on your preference. We stayed in the RV parking out back and as always we appreciate them accommodating our overnight stays.

I ordered the country sampler with meatloaf and crispy fried chicken. Got my plate and my chicken was raw. Not pink, raw!!! So they took the plate back and remade it. Second plate comes out I cut into the chicken still raw. I asked for a manager. He told me the breasts are thicker than the cooks are use to. I told him I cook chicken at home that’s not a good excuse. He said he would go back there and personally cook the chicken while I eat the rest of the plate. I explained I cut the raw breast on that plate and the juice cross contaminated everything on it. I told him I would not eat anything with raw chicken juice and I couldn’t believe he didn’t see the problem with that!!!! Do NOT eat here!!!!!
