Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch while waiting for a nearby appointment. I ordered the Char Siu BBQ Pork Bahn Mi and Vietmanese Iced Coffee and my daughter ordered Grilled Pork Bahn Mi and Jasmine Oolong Iced Tea. We swapped halves of our Bahn Mi sandwiches so I got to try both. They were amazing. Easily the best Bahn Mi I've had in a long time. The bagettes were just perfect, and the sandwiches were very flavorful and bright. I did like the Char Siu the best. Also they were quite large. I loved my Vietnamese Coffee. The young man that was our server was very friendly and helpful. He offered my daughter a taste of the tea to be sure she would like it. The tea had a very intense flavor and was amazing, but I appreciate that he wanted to be sure it was what she was expectiing. I highly recommend the Sun Cafe. Looking forward to going back to try some of the other menu options. AAA+++

needed a quick bite and this place offered both of what I was looking for: bánh mì and coffee. saw that they had variety of flavors so I went w the grilled pork and char siu, or Chinese style BBQ pork. normally I'd get the traditional cold cuts but not every place do the full trimmings so I would rather avoid the disappointment. the grilled pork was good. not very packed. smaller bread than your foot baguette. flavor were more lemongrass, pan fried rather than fire grilled...which was fine. everyone has their own method. just not as traditional to what I'm used to but it was enjoyable. the char siu tasted homemade. on the lighter side in flavor. not as savory & sweet as if you were to buy it from Chinatown. easily overlooked by the grilled pork. the coffee. very strong, aromatic coffee flavor. not too sweet or bitter. not as thick as I would like it from the condensed milk. a bit on the frothier side. still one of the better I've tasted in the area. I may come back to try their main dishes dining in but for a quick bite, Sun Cafe did their job. the gentleman was friendly and helpful. the area is split off for take-out and dine in. cleaned, modern restroom. I hope this establishment will stick around!

And chicken Bumi to go for my next meal . Big portion of my middle so I took half of it Home . A young man works there in the front . He is nice . His name is Tri . Lady chief also nice 😊 Nice and clean , casual dining room. Peaceful , good to eat alone here .
