Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I am consistently searching for authentic and delicious Indian food (northern and southern) in North Texas. Now, if I lived in NYC, London, or literally anywhere in India, my search would have ended years ago. However, despite the populous cities of Dallas and Fort Worth and everywhere in between, my search was on-going until I discovered Desi Chulha. Located in a generic strip mall, the restaurant from the outside looks like nothing special. But, inside is a totally different story. Desi Chulha offers some of the most delicious and authentic Indian food I have sampled outside of NY and London. If you have been disappointed by the food offered by seemingly upscale Indian eateries in and around DFW, look no further than Desi Chulha. I promise that you will, like me, become a regular customer who looks forward to another wondrous meal at this outstanding eatery.

Pakoda was over-fried. And the chicken biryani did not taste good. Biryani looked like rice dipped in chciken curry.

So glad I stopped in today as I was driving by from my mom's house in Bedford, TX. I love good Indian food and this place has it. Small intimate place with big rich flavor...I asked the owner (Mr Sing) what he recommended for a late lunch (they open from 11am - 2:30pm for lunch and open again at 4pm - 9:30pm or 10pm on weekends) and his recommendation of chicken Tikka masala with garlic Naan was on point. The Tikka Masala was spicy and tender and the garlic Naan was the best I've eaten. My new go to for Indian cuisine when I'm in Bedford. Priced right especially for the quality of food and portions too. Enjoy.
