Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Stopped in today for their Poor Man’s Special of red beans and rice with sausage and cornbread. We were in the area for the Museum of the Gulf Coast and are so glad we stopped at Edith’s because it was delicious and inexpensive.

At this point I've had pretty much everything on the lunch menu and was only disappointed once. I can't recommend the fried chicken unfortunately, I'd expected a batter fried sothern style fried chicken and it appeared it was just a skin on chicken breast fried in a pan. That being said, literally everything else in there is top tier.

I’ve ate here 3 days in a row. Every time it’s been amazing food! My favorite restaurant around this area. If you haven’t tried it yet you’re missing out. 5 stars easily
