Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Welcome home! El sombrero is one of the few places where I found myself smiling the entire time, from entering through the doors to stepping out of them. The food is second to none! The burrito are mega packed, and although I've never had fajitas that look like this, it was still fantastic tasting. The shrimp was good, the steak was tender, the refried beans were actually incredible, which was something I never thought I would say! Staff for some of the friendliest people I've ever seen. Always a smile on their faces, checking in on you consistently, just amazing. If you get the chance, please do yourself a favor and stop by El sombrero!

Just a short walk from the legendary Manhattan Beach, this place ticked all the boxes for me. The place was clean, the service was great, and the food was incredible. I had the No. 13 (scrambled eggs and chorizo with rice and beans). It did not disappoint, nor did the service. If I'm ever back in Manhattan Beach, I would definitely come back!

I can’t decide whether the food or service is better. My sister even said this was the best Mexican restaurant she’s ever been to because everything was so fresh. We got the manhattan ceviche and steak quesadilla, best of both worlds. Not to mention the price is so reasonable everything we got was just under $50!! Unbelievable for being right by the beach
