Absolutely loved this place from start to finish. The food is authentically Egyptian, full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care—not rushed, not “Americanized,” just real comfort food that tastes like home. Every dish we tried was fresh, rich, and deeply satisfying. What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is the owners. They are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You don’t feel like just another customer—you feel like a guest. That warmth and attention to detail shows in everything, from the food to the atmosphere. The place itself is clean, cozy, and inviting, with a vibe that makes you want to sit, talk, and enjoy your meal instead of rushing out. It’s the kind of spot you’re excited to recommend to friends because you know they’ll love it. If you’re looking for real Egyptian food, great hospitality, and an overall amazing experience, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be coming back—again and again.

The mixed grill was good. The mixed dish with macaroni, onions, and lentils was good. No water offered. All other tables nobody had water. Mandatory gratuity on the tab. The mint lemonade was not worth the price at all. $8 and if you get that same drink other places it tastes way more natural and made from legit ingredients. The Mumbar I would not recommend. It tasted burnt like ash and was not worth it. The lady who took the orders was nice. She did continuously try to upsell on items which was a little annoying. Pretty sure there was an error on our bill because we walked out of there with a $100+ bill for two people. That’s River Oaks $$$ for a spot off deep Harwin with bars in the windows. Come on now. We would not go back. It was fine to go once.

I found out about this restaurant from my girlfriend. Today we went with one other and tried a few different things. It was all amazing. We got the mixed grill with salad to try all the meats, the koshary, stuffed zucchini and cabbage, and om ali for dessert. We ordered the Egyptian tea to drink. The staff were very kind and helpful, including answering any questions we had about the food. Would recommend highly to anyone.
