I'm a big fan of classic diners, and honestly, there aren't that many around anymore. Although, Elmer's has managed to stand the test of time. This is another one of those reviews that I waited to write because it's been 20 years since the last time I ate here The location is convenient, especially if you're a student at ISU, notably having all the classic diner staples, like extra large booths and bar top. If you're visiting during winter, there's a coat check for convenience, and the cold weather makes the coffee taste even better. The staff has always been very friendly, and I take it as a good sign when they bring their family in to eat where they work, which happens here a fair amount. The menu doesn't really have anything particularly special about it, but I would make sure to get something with a biscuit, as good biscuits are hard to come by these days. Other than my previous tip, I can't really say I favor one menu item over another, as the quality it great on everything. Overall, a rock solid diner experience, for those that are into that kind of thing.

Great local doner. Super classic old school. Cook knows his business in the kitchen. Stuffed northwest hashbrowns are a treat! Love the vibe and the food! It is now a mandatory stop every time I go to Pocatello.
