Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The honest truth about this coffee shop: It is much more than just a coffee shop when you walk in it is very welcoming. The ladies taking your order and making the coffee are extremely friendly and are smiling while taking your order and giving you your food. The menu has options for everyone. The food is very fresh and made with love for sure. One thing that I also loved was there are Bible verses that you can read while you are waiting for your coffee. I had no idea the company was a family of Jesus, loving people. But that’s just bonus points after visiting this location. The coffee is also very fresh taste great and made really well. If you happen to be in the area and you just want some quality coffee and food in the morning, this is your place. It also seems like a great place if you wanted to hang out, do some work on your laptop or study if you’re in college, it’s welcoming for all.

Elmisa Cafe Rancho Bernardo is a quaint, spot located on a busy intersection. The kitchen is constantly moving, and the breakfast menu is varied and appealing. Service here is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about the offerings. I ordered the Power Bowl, which came served in a plastic container—a detail that felt a little odd since we were dining on-site. The bowl was generously filled with walnuts, bananas, strawberries, coconut, dates, and covered in a layer of creamy almond butter. The Elmisa (Avocado Toast) was nice, served on a crisp slice of sourdough bread. The sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, paired with the avocado spread, were remarkably fresh and bright. The feta cheese was a great addition, using its salt and richness to enhance the fresh vegetable flavors. Since the cafe lacks a griddle, they use sliced boiled eggs to top the toast. While delicious, I think this dish would be elevated even further with a soft over-easy or poached egg (a personal preference). There is comfortable indoor and outdoor seating available. ⚠️ The experience was tempered by the narrow parking lot and busy intersection, which created some frustration. Be careful driving to/from the location during peak hours. Overall, a nice breakfast spot with lots of promise.

We were in the area looking to get some sandwiches. We ordered the Turkey Apple Brie, Tuscany Turkey, iced tea, banana red and blue smoothie. The sandwiches were delicious and large. We will definitely be back to try more.
