Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The sushi and rolls have far too much rice, which I really dislike. The food overall is okay, but nothing special. The service is consistently bad. The staff is unfriendly every time we visit. What bothers me the most is that they take the receipt with the tip written on it before we leave the table, which feels rude and uncomfortable. This has happened many times, not just once. That said, among the Chinese buffets in this area, this place is still the best option, which is why we come here occasionally despite the poor service.

This place has been around on the east side of Flint (Burton) for quite a while. The business is in an older strip mall but the interior is remodeled and very modest. Prices are reasonable considering it's all you can eat. I always get the Mongolian BBQ which is as close to the now closed "Jimmy Lum's" as you can get. Sometimes I get sushi too, which is delicious to me. My wife gets shrimp, crab, and chicken with plenty of vegetables. The soup is average but their fish is always good. A complete dessert bar is available which includes jello, brownies and soft serve ice cream. We also get tea with our meal. There are higher priced buffets in nicer buildings out there but this place is closer to us so we go here. Empire Wok always seems to be open when other restaurants are closed so we like that aspect.

The restaurant has been completely updated and looks very nice inside. The bathrooms are very clean, which was a plus for me. The food was fresh, delicious, and well maintained when I visited. I also love they have sushi!! The staff was very friendly and was consistently checking up on my husband and I. I definitely will be coming back to enjoy more of their food.
