We’ve been going to the Flower Child location in South End for years. After doing some after Christmas returns nearby—we came to The Bowl to have dinner. Although there are plenty of dining choices—I love the fact that the food here is healthy & delish! By the way, did you know they have a rewards program? I’m surprised we had never signed up. So I did it! Yesterday evening, finding a spot to park was an issue but we managed. I had the chicken enchilada (which I loved) & my husband ordered the falafel wrap (he wasn’t that crazy about it) with a side salad. I also went with a side of broccoli. Yum! We tried ALL of the desserts. Some we brought home (pictured here) PS My husband and I fought over the “olive oil cake & a chocolate pudding” that Paola, who is a delight, sent out for us to try. Wow! That stuff is addictive! We highly recommend FC! Bon appétit 🍴 Josephine Local

TAKE OUT ORDER (ordered online and picked up): Very disappointed!! This is our second visit to Flower Child. Both times we ordered the Black Bean Falafel Wrap and the Rebel French Dip. First trip: neither cared for the Rebel French Dip very much; however, we both liked the overall taste of the Black Bean Falafel. The main issue with the falafel was that it was too mushy. The hummus and Tzatziki sauce did not hold up on the thin tortilla, causing it to fall apart. However it was fresh. Send trip: we decided to order the same thing to see if there were any changes and/or to give the Rebel another chance. My partner liked the Rebel a bit better than the first time (I did not), except his tortilla was very stale and dried out. On the other hand, the Black Bean Falafel was a disaster! This time we did order the hummus and tzatziki sauce on the side, to avoid it getting so mushy once we got home. Nevertheless, the tortilla was very stale and dried out and the falafel was soooo dry and burnt, that it was hard to eat. It just crunched in my mouth. Very different texture than the fresh, moist falafel we had the first time. It just crumbled onto our plates and tasted burnt. Overall, not satisfied with this order at all. Side note: if you order the Black Bean Falafel “to go”, I suggest requesting the hummus and tzatziki sauce on the side to avoid it getting soggy and mushy (this was helpful). Not sure if we will go back or not anytime soon. May need to take a break for a bit. Perhaps some time down the road we will try another dish of theirs, since their reviews are fairly decent. Hopefully this time was a fluke.

I am a very understanding/chill person who works in the food industry and I understand mistakes happen but when I was eating my take out order, this was in the bowl. It blended into my broccoli so I didn’t see it at first. Good thing I took a second look because there was a big, gross, dead bug in my food. I am attaching pictures below. Please make sure this doesn’t happen again. Now I’m scared I ate one because I wasn’t looking closely at my food throughout the whole meal. (zoom in closely to pictures and you will see the bug🤮)
