Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Founding Farmers has a nice atmosphere and a large dining area that feels lively and welcoming. The service was efficient and quick, which I appreciated, especially during a busy time. I really liked the farmhouse platter; it was a great way to try a variety of items and overall very satisfying. Unfortunately, the fried chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, which was a little disappointing given how well-known the restaurant is for it. Overall, it’s a solid spot with good service and a pleasant setting, though it can get fairly noisy if you’re hoping to have longer conversations at the table.

It is in a great location. Their portions are generous, fresh scratch-made dishes, and reasonable prices for restaurants like this in DC. The location is convenient for tourists and locals. I found the service slow, but it gives you time to enjoy the moment. Some dishes have an issue with food temperature and quality, for example the crab dip. No parking in the area. Accessible place, with an elevator for the second floor/restroom. Not recommended with kids. Good cocktails yet not good desserts. A lot of people so it is loud, not easy to talk

Went to DC for a business trip with my boyfriend, and this restaurant was recommended to him. I got the spinach mushroom and onion pan scramble and it was very good. Their biscuits are the best I’ve had so far. My boyfriend had the buttermilk Maine blueberry pancakes and he liked them a lot. Enrique was our server and he was very social and helpful. Altogether good experience!
