Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Bland and lukewarm food Disinterested service Incorrect prices There's really nothing to come back for. I don't like to give negative reviews in general, but this was a pretty bad experience. I had staked out this place ahead of time as it is vegan and wanted to support their business. We got here about 10 minutes after it opened, and the sign clearly said to place your order before getting seated. There was one employee who did not even bother to greet us as we entered, though she was right there. We waited a bit and then called out to her. She talked to us a bit, and then we had to specifically ask her for the menus. She fetched them from the back and then went off towards the other end to eat food. While I understand people can get hungry, but she could certainly wait until we had placed our order, because, as per her sign, we can't be seated until we have placed the order. They have only a handful of dishes on the menu, so it's not like we would take a long time to figure it out. Anyhow, I ordered a plate with 2 items, and the menu clearly stated $16.95. However, she charged us $18.80 it so. I called it out to her and she simply said "he must have changed the price" and left it that, did not correct the price. When the food arrived, it was very bland, with hardly any flavour. The red lentils were undercooked and overwhelmed by sour taste (too much lemon juice or citric acid?). The potatoes in the jerk tofu were also undercooked and bland. All the items on the plate were luke warm, like that were made earlier in the day and no one even bother to microwave them. I'm terribly, terribly disappointed here. The cookies across the street from them were hotter than the food we got here.

Wow, just wow — tacos here are next level. I thought I knew what good tacos were, but this place completely changed my mind. The flavors were bold, the tortillas fresh, and everything just worked together perfectly. They’ve got a great selection of beers on tap, too, so it’s easy to grab a drink while enjoying your meal. The staff are super chill and welcoming, making the whole experience fun and relaxed. The vibe is casual but lively, which makes it one of the best spots downtown San Jose for a laid-back meal. If you love tacos, drinks, and a friendly atmosphere, this is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

If you’re vegan you’ll be in heaven! Everything is vegan. The “chicken “ drumstick is delicious hands down my favorite item. The jerk “chicken “ and rice was pretty good the flavor of the rice was kind of bland. The jackfruit tacos were street sized tacos. It was hot inside so we eat outside which has a nice little setting. Yes I’d return the waitress was really nice and friendly ready to talk.
