Small authentic Hawaiian restaurant that serves the best comfort Hawaiian food. I was pleasantly surprised with their spam musubi and udon stir fry noodles. The Kalua Pork Tots were so good - Crispy tots with tender pork. The Loco Moco was good as well but the gravy is what sets it apart from others! A tad salty but overall good food at reasonable prices. The service was also great! Everyone was friendly and kind. It’s on the smaller side and seats maybe around 20 and some seats at the bar but it’s worth it.

Decided to try this restaurant after a stellar review on "Check, Please!", and it did not disappoint. The location is great, with a view of the water and ample parking across the street in case their parking lot is full (which it most likely will be, based on our visit at 11:45 on a Tuesday). We shared the Krispy Kalua Tots, which were covered with Kalua pork, shredded mozzarella , green onions, and drizzled with sauce. My daughter had spam katsu, with a requisite crispy panko outer coating - it came with a tangy soy dipping sauce. My wife ordered Kalua Pork sliders, and she surprised me by polishing off all three. Normally, she can only eat just so much Kalua Pork before becoming overwhelmed by the smoke flavor. She gave me a bite, and the subtlety of the smokiness and flavor made it perfectly onolicious. I had Portuguese sausage and eggs, because the sausage "comes from Hawai'i", so why not! The sausage had the right amount of kick, the eggs were done perfectly (I added some Sriracha sauce), the rice was moist, and the macaroni salad was a hit. My wife dislikes the macaroni salad at your typical Hawaiian food joint because it's frequently swimming in mayonnaise and the noodles turn to mush. The restraint here was evident: it allowed the flavors to come through, and the al-dente mouthfeel of the pasta conveyed a "freshly prepared" vibe. This place is da grindz!
