Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We ordered goat & chicken dum biryani. Yesllow dal ( dal Tadka) Chic tandoori. The food was over spicy.. Too spicy that we couldn't finish our food. The rice wasn't cooked enough. I gave 5 star even though it wasn't a pleasant experience & I didn't like the food overall, just because my goal is to improve

Had lunch- Kothu Parotta- good tasting food . Wednesday Evening i- Dosa Buffet- is a blast. Quality of the food is good. Differently tasting foods great for the taste palette. Reasonable price. Several food are like home made. The price and the quality and variety like no other. Not greasy or too hot is the best part. If it is not crispy or super sugar yanked with cream. Ala crate has a good variety of Tamil, Malayalam, Hyderabad and different tastes. When you cook this many varieties, it is not 100% but feel homely and want eat again. The staff is very friendly. Felt like eating at a relatives place. Overall A+. Been coming to ups and downs of Grand Rapids. Glad to see a place like this. Very refreshing!

Tried vegetarian only this time. The dosa/wada combo was great 5/5! The nan was great, paneer tikka masala was lacking spiciness! chilli paneer was a bit sour to taste. Still a great place to try out Indian food!!!!!
