Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The Estillos Barber Studio team this time stopped by Grape Leaves Restaurant in Oak Park, and let me tell you that this place is a whole experience. The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in a warm, cozy atmosphere that instantly transports you straight to Morocco without ever leaving Oak Park. The Vibe Every detail inside the restaurant feels intentional. The decorations are all from Morocco, giving the space a real cultural heartbeat. Most of the wall art paintings which we believe were painted by Chef Karim himself adds a personal, handcrafted touch that makes the restaurant feel like a story you’re stepping into. It’s the kind of detail most people miss, but it makes the whole experience feel authentic and special. What We Ordered - Moroccan Chicken Tagine - Herbal Tea - Rice - Hummus Everything tasted like it was made with care and tradition. Next time, we’re excited to try different dishes because the menu has so much more to explore. A huge thank you to Stephanie who made sure every table was taken care of, comfortable, and never in need of anything. Her energy sets the tone for the entire dining room(friendly, inviting, and full of heart).Hospitality is genuine, and it shows in the way they move through the room, checking on guests and making sure everyone is having a good time. Overall It was a great experience from start to finish, and we highly recommend it. If you want incredible food, warm energy, and a cultural escape right in the heart of Oak Park, Grape Leaves Restaurant is a must‑visit.

This was the best Moroccan food that I have had outside Morocco! The location is intimate, although I believe they are soon expanding into the space next door. We ordered a Marrakech salad which was delicious and sweet with plenty of dates. Then we got the chicken tagine which was savory, sweet, juicy and delicious. We also really enjoyed the mint tea which was warm and comforting, although it was definitely less sugary than the versions we had in Morocco. Highly recommend this place and would happily come back any time!

I’m lucky to have Grape Leaves right next to my job. The food is consistently amazing, and the owner is always there making everyone feel welcome. It’s one of those places where you can really feel the care and heart behind it!
