Our favorite hearty sandwich and creative coffee spot in the city, and it also has a wide selection of amazing sweets from bakeries across the city. Friendly staff, too! This club sandwich (made with Love Again Local seitan) was so tasty, we got another one to go! Sometimes the music can be a little loud for hanging out inside but the last time we went it was fine.

I stopped by Grindcore House in South Philadelphia and it’s easily one of the most unique coffee shops in the city. The café has a cool underground vibe with punk and metal music playing, local art on the walls, and a laid-back atmosphere that feels very different from a typical coffee spot. The menu is completely vegan, but the food is surprisingly hearty and satisfying. I tried a breakfast sandwich and a latte, and both were excellent—fresh ingredients, great flavor, and a solid portion size. They also have bagels, pastries, and creative vegan sandwiches that make it easy to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. What really stands out is the personality of the place. Between the music, the art, and the small bookshelf of zines and activist literature, it feels more like a community hangout than just a café. Overall, Grindcore House is a great stop in Philly if you want good coffee, plant-based food, and a quirky alternative atmosphere.

Nice coffee shop with heavy band aesthetics and a tucked away dining room. Coffee bags and other apparel available for sale. I’m not personally vegan, but I would come again and recommend for anyone to give it a try. The latte was well prepared and the vegan Cuban was definitely way different comparatively but the flavors were still good. Thanks!
