Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Came to Groovy Goat for an event! Event room is through the Arcade to the left. I never knew it was there! Great space for 70 people 7 tables of 10 people. Food was buffet style included sprimp/chicken/mixed vegetables/ fettuccine Alfredo/ mixed salad and… the best ever chocolate chip cookies!!

Lots of beers on tap and a large arcade for kiddos. Great for large parties both family and adult. Lots of TVs and “the game” you want to see is always on. As far as quality of the food….is hit or miss for both lunch and dinner service: scores average overall with positives being portion size and southern-inspired side options, like black eyed peas, while negatives include sloppy food presentation paired with what I will describe as inconsistent kitchen technique. Order the right thing and it’s very good; full disclosure, it is the off season , so there is that. And, this place is intended for the tastes of kids, adult children, sports fans and families, so staying on the predictable and bland side of food is what they have to do. In winter, they are struggling to draw in both customers and staff. In summer, they are packed and it’s a completely improved experience. Great people! Great venue that books seriously talented artists and bands for entertainment, and don’t miss Friday karaoke vibes.

Damn. Thanks for the suggestion, Wade. The Redfish Sandwich struck a nerve. I grew up on Redfish in Florida. My mom would put potatoes in the oven and challenge me to catch dinner. Then I caught Red Snapper. We ate when the potatoes were done. Thank you.
