Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I’ve been wanting to try the restaurant at Guernsey Farms Dairy for quite sometime because I really enjoy their ice cream & milk. I was in the area and decided to meet some family there for lunch. While the service was great and our server was very friendly and attentive, the food was kind of a miss overall. We tried several things like the burger, broasted chicken, chicken tenders, spinach dip and Mac and cheese and all of it was just kind of bland and unflavorful. The food also came out in mixed temperatures with some of it being much hotter than others. The one thing that didn’t miss was the ice cream so I guess if I have any advice I’d say stick to what they’re known for because the ice cream is truly amazing 😩

I stopped by Guernsey after reading about the place in a book and realizing that I’d be nearby. It’s a nice place, and the staff seemed friendly. I got a cup of their butter pecan ice cream to go along with a container of their lemonade. The ice cream was sweet and creamy with a very pleasant flavor, and it might have been one of the better butter pecans I’ve had. The lemonade was quite sweet yet balanced, and I can see why it’s popular. They had lots of flavors, and I can see why the place is popular. I’ll have to stop by again someday.

Don’t Miss Happy Hour from 3 to 6 PM! They offer a great selection of appetizers and beers at very reasonable prices. We ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks and the onion dip. The chips that came with the onion dip were kettle-style, but unfortunately, a bit overcooked. Still, the mozzarella sticks were spot on — crispy and cheesy, just the way they should be. For dinner, we had the 4-piece chicken dinner, and the combo of coleslaw and buttermilk mashed potatoes was absolutely perfect. Their fried chicken never disappoints — crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The beef hoagie sandwich, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. It lacked seasoning and tasted a bit bland. As a side substitution, I chose the house salad, which included sunflower seeds — something to note for anyone with a sunflower seed allergy. I was fine with it, but it’s good to be aware. After dinner, we treated ourselves to ice cream — the perfect way to end the meal. The ice cream shop next door has so many flavors that it’s hard to pick just one. Browsing the Guernsey goods shop was also a nice touch, and enjoying ice cream under the big tree outside added a peaceful, relaxing vibe. This cozy local restaurant is definitely worth a visit — whether for a full meal or just ice cream, it’s a solid 10/10.
