Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I cannot say enough good things about Hale's. The food is delicious, the coffee is wonderful and the staff is friendly. We got our food very quickly. The atmosphere is delightful. I wish we lived closer and could come here all the time.

Breakfast served all day, great lunch and dinner options as well. Rustic atmosphere, decor nicely done for a hometown, woodsy feel. Christmas 🎄 decor up is beautiful and the pan fried, trout, on the breakfast menu, was delicious, came with choice of side toast, pancakes, waffle.

We were excited to try the food here as it was highly recommend. We have been trying different restaurants in the area as it is a half way point to meet our daughter. When we came in the staff and atmosphere seemed very nice. Once we sat down we had three different waitresses coming to our table. Two were very nice (got our drinks and then just checked on us), the third took our order and was very indifferent. My daughter and I ordered their special, 8oz New York, loaded mashed potatoes, and cheesecake. It was hands down the worst steak we had ever tried to eat. It was beyond over cooked, had no flavor, and was so full of grizzle that we both stopped eating it after 3 bites. The mashed potatoes tasted as if they were from a box and just had cheap shredded cheese sprinkled over the top, and the toast that came with it was ice cold. My husband even had to remind them that it came with dessert and even that was a let down, but at least edible. Honestly this was the most disappointing experience I've ever had.
