We stopped into Happy Girl Kitchen Co. for a quick breakfast and coffee and ended up blown away by everything we tried. We ordered the chickpea frittata, chia pudding with granola, avocado toast, carrot & sweet potato soup, fresh-pressed green juice, strawberry mint ginger kombucha, a brown butter toffee cookie, and a brown butter chocolate chip cookie. Every single item was incredibly fresh, balanced, and genuinely delicious. You can taste how thoughtful and intentional the food is—nothing felt rushed, heavy, or overdone. The seasoning was spot-on across the board. The sourdough bread deserves its own mention—so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly textured. Clearly high-quality and well cared for. For drinks, we had the lavender oat matcha and a café latte. Both were exceptionally smooth, not bitter, and beautifully made. The matcha in particular was creamy and well-balanced, and the coffee was equally impressive. This is the kind of place where you can tell they care deeply about ingredients, preparation, and the overall experience. Easily one of the best breakfast/brunch stops in Monterey. We’ll absolutely be back.

I tried the chickpea frittatas (3 pictured). They are made very well, the perfect moistness and flavorful without being too flavorful (especially for breakfast). Love to see all of the vegan and gluten free options and the staff and environment also very nice

I loved the chickpea fritatta so much that I couldn't wait to get another one the next day. Delicious vegan baked goods. The coffee was perfect. The pickle slices that accompany the fritatta were amazing, much better than their jarred dill spears. The tomato cauliflower soup was dynamite. You can find pretty much anything you want picked in their store.
