Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I’d come into this restaurant within a half hour ago. I placed an order to go: eggs, grits & 2 pancakes. The order was ready super fast, only about 3 minutes… the only item hot was the grits. I don’t like how they put a “likely unsanitary” bowl of grits in the same container as the eggs. The pancakes are thick as hell. You’ll need a drink for certain.

The food is amazing especially tge soups- Chicken Gumbo, chicken Noodle, Cream of Potato. They have great breakfast specials from skillets, chopped steak & eggs, pork chops and more. They dont have a big dessert menu. This restaurant lives up to its name- Hearty Cafe
