This charming breakfast spot has won over reviewers with its creative dishes and cozy atmosphere. The Slinger burrito, a standout item, features eggs and chicken sausage, while the Captain Crunch burrito is another popular choice. The giant platter with chicken sausage and a chocolate chip pancake is also a hit, with reviewers raving about the crispy potato hash and smoky hot sauce. Be aware that this popular spot can get crowded on weekends, and prices are a bit on the higher side. Reservations may be a good idea, and parking can be a challenge. Additionally, those with gluten intolerance or other dietary restrictions may want to exercise caution, as the restaurant's communication and professionalism have been called into question by some reviewers.

Excerpts

Cute breakfast spot. Fits about 30 people or so and some outdoor seating. Quite popular on weekends for lunch. They have some very cool drinks- including a horchata and a custom Cochata. Never seen that. Prices are a bit premium for $20 or so and a $5 Coke. I ended up trying the Slinger burrito and it was very good! Enjoyed the eggs and the chicken sausage.

We came in around 1pm, & the restaurant was fairly empty. The space is cute & quaint with a nice layout! My friend ordered the French Toast which looked great. However, if you have dietary restrictions (celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or a severe intolerance), I wouldn’t recommend. The lack of clear communication and professionalism is what made my experience upsetting and frustrating. As someone who has celiac disease, I understand the inherent risk of eating at a restaurant that serves both gluten-containing and g.f. options. I usually choose to eat somewhere based on the precautions they can take with gluten-free meals. I initially asked my server what precautions they take when someone has a gluten allergy, but it didn’t seem like they understood my question as they responded by listing gluten-free options on the menu. I reframed my question to ask like what does the kitchen differently when there is an allergy. The server said they took precautions, but couldn’t explain what they were, so they went to ask someone else and never returned even though the restaurant was mainly empty (about 4 tables seated). I hadn’t ordered anything yet, so I went up to ask what they recommended for someone with a gluten allergy & the server suggested a burrito with no potatoes since they’re fried in the same fryer as the chicken I believe. I ordered that, but again asked if someone could let me know the precautions before I ate. No one followed up, so I asked another staff member who informed me that there is definitely cross contamination. When I questioned that, they clarified by saying since gluten is in the kitchen, they can’t guarantee no contamination (which I understand). Then, they informed that the pancakes are the only item made separately. I was extremely disappointed because if I had known this earlier, I would have ordered that. I explained that I was uncomfortable with eating the burrito since I hadn’t been made aware of the safer option & still didn’t have any clarity about the precautions. Eventually, they said that they wipe down the grill ( + mentioned another precaution I forgot), & reassured me that the burrito was “most likely safe” because the kitchen is aware. I returned to my seat feeling genuinely pressured as I felt I had no other option, & the employee who I had just spoken to came over and said something along the lines of “Girl I would just just eat it, and we get the wraps separately.” I don’t think this situation was handled appropriately, and I ate half of the burrito & got a celiac reaction. Objectively speaking, there aren’t many places that offer gluten-free burritos, so this is for sure appreciated as an option. I ordered the Drea’s burrito with no potatoes, but it was kind of bland without the potatoes. It was also cold, partly because I waited to eat. Ultimately, this place is not safe for celiac. It may be fine if u are lightly gluten intolerant or have no dietary restrictions.

Excellent breakfast. My husband ordered the Captain Crunch burrito and I had the giant platter with chicken sausage and a chocolate chip pancake. Everything was delicious. The chicken sausage was very good, the potato hash was perfectly crispy, and the bread was amazing. The hot sauce stood out too, very smoky and flavorful. Not very spicy, but still incredibly good. Service was great and the whole experience felt welcoming and fun. I would absolutely come back.
