Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Dining at Himalayan Grill in Flagstaff was a bit of a mixed bag when it came to the flavors, but the atmosphere and hospitality were undeniably 10/10. The restaurant has a cozy, authentic vibe that makes it a perfect retreat from the mountain air, and the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout the entire meal. I started with the Vegetable Pakora platter, which was decent but felt a little standard, earning a 6/10. The Chai followed at a 5/10, as it lacked that deep, spicy kick I usually look for in a house-made brew. The real highlight of the meal, however, was the Garlic Naan, which was an easy 9/10 soft, pillowy, and packed with fresh garlic flavor. Unfortunately, the Paneer Butter Masala was a major letdown at a 3/10; the sauce lacked the rich, creamy depth the dish is known for and felt surprisingly watery. While the food scores were all over the place, the overall experience was still pleasant thanks to the excellent service and the warm, inviting ambiance. It’s a great spot if you're looking for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy some incredible bread, even if some of the main dishes missed the mark this time around.

I’ll start with what I loved - the momos was delicious and came with a nice spicy dip. The lentil soup was tasty and flavourful. And the chowmien was good too! The dish I didn’t like was the Tikka Masala - it was missing flavours and was too sweet. Service was very poor, I ordered a salad and it never came. The staff was running around and was quite insistent to take away our cutleries and plates that never got replaced with new ones.

We visited this restaurant while on holiday, looking for Indian/Nepali food. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were seated quickly as it wasn’t crowded. However, it took over an hour for our food to arrive, despite multiple reminders. The staff seemed more focused on fulfilling doordash orders than attending to dine-in customers, and they were not welcoming or attentive. When the food finally arrived, it was a big letdown—bland, lacking flavor, and poorly prepared. The chicken vindaloo had more potatoes than chicken, and the chaw chaw was overly sweet and oily. As we were eating, the staff began cleaning the floors and tables around us, making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. We had to pack up and leave before finishing our meal. Overall, this was one of our worst dining experiences. Would not recommend unless it’s your only option. If you're not too hungry, don’t mind a long wait, prefer bland and slightly sweet food, and aren’t bothered by poor service, then this might just be the place for you.
