As a Thai-American, Hot Basil Thai has been one of my absolutely favorite and authentic Thai restaurants in KC. Food is always delicious and authentic. Service is also always amazing and accommodating. My folks and I have eaten here several times over the years. Highly recommend!!

Went with a large group of 8 people. Service was great, no complaints there. Basic menu like all other Thai places I've eaten at, which I figured. Presentation was good. Red Curry - My favorite kind of curry and what I usually order at every Thai restaurant I go to. I was disappointed. The curry was too liquidy and a little bit on the sweeter side. Panang Curry - Too thick and way too peanut-ty. I couldn't even enjoy it. Pad see ew - Lacked flavor, a lot of it. It's like they rushed it. You can tell by the lack of color of the noodles. Beef Mint Salad - No complaints. I enjoyed it. Tom Yum Soup - No complaints. Flavor was there. Overall, this was my first time here. May give it another try in the future, but unfortunately, would not recommend.
