After I finished my food I was angry, why, because it doesn't make any sense for food to be this good. It's actually insulting that the food was this good. I think I'm angry because there isn't a location in Belleville (where I live). I drove 50 minutes and I was not disappointed. I believe the man that took my order was the owner and he was so nice, you don't see that often above the Mason Dixon line. He gave me a sample of the egusi soup without me asking because I mentioned this was my first time trying authentic African food, which was really thoughtful. The bowl of water definitely through me for a loop at first.(I clearly didn't realize how messy my hands were going to get). They know what they're doing in that kitchen, they deserve a Nobel peace prize for these flavors alone. I highly recommend 10/10.

It was my son, and I's first-time trying House Of Joloff, and I can honestly say we will be back. We did a quick google search for Nigerian food (my 13 year old son likes to try different foods). House of Joloff was the first restaurant to pop up on our good search for Nigerian cuisine. It was a 30-minute drive for us, and it was DEFINITELY worth it. We ordered the Joloff rice with Oxtail and mild spice, Egusi soup with Chicken and side of Fufu, and a delicious meat pie/empanda, which they have a veggie options but we ordered the beef meat pie and it was cooked to perfection, so simple but with so much flavor. Every dish we had was just packed with so much flavor, African spices, oxtail meat falling off the bone, to the egusi soup that was surprisingly delicious! We will definitely be back. Absolutely amazing first time. They did NOT disappoint. The father and daughter were so helpful when we needed to order and understand the menu. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal!
