Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We visited India Restaurant La Habra with our family on Christmas Day (Dec 25), and we were honestly grateful they were open when so many places were closed. We’ve eaten here many times before—both dining in and ordering for pickup to enjoy at home—so we already knew we liked it. But today we specifically wanted to sit down and enjoy the food fresh and hot, and it was absolutely worth it. Everything tasted warm, flavorful, and freshly made. In my opinion, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the La Habra area. The staff is friendly, and the food has that rich Indian aroma and depth of flavor you hope for. The naan especially stood out—served hot with that fresh-from-the-oven fragrance and texture. A special bonus today: they kindly let us take photos of the kitchen, so we could capture the tandoor oven and the cooking process, which made the experience even more memorable. If you’re nearby, I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try—you’ll really taste the difference.

Well I thought the food was really delicious and the spice had heat, everything was super flavorful, place was packed and sooo many people came in for pick up orders, staff was welcoming and really really really attentive. But I also I don’t eat Indian food that often so I don’t know how to compare to other places. I had a little bit of everything and their chai tea omg that was different an yummy I am a tea girl… the dessert was like a donut pancake thing a ma bopper. But personally I don’t have experience in this food to compare.

Food was top notch!! Amazing portions for the price. My personal favorites were the refreshing mango lassi and delicious butter chicken!! Absolutely amazing service, waiter gave amazing recommendations (the tandoori chicken), and even gave us some rice and dessert on the house!! Gulab Jaman was rich and warm😋
