Don’t judge this place by its exterior. From the outside, Taste of India looks like a simple takeout spot—but looks can be very misleading. Inside, you’ll find some of the best Indian food in the area. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making the experience even better from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely amazing—rich flavors, perfectly prepared, and clearly made with care and passion. Every bite was outstanding. This small, unassuming restaurant is a true hidden gem in Desert Hot Springs. Nothing but praise for the food, the service, and the overall experience. Highly recommended—you’ll be glad you stopped in.

We tried their food and were genuinely impressed. Being born and raised in India, we usually keep our expectations low when it comes to Indian restaurants, as many tend to adjust flavors for the general population and lose authenticity. This place was a pleasant surprise — the food was truly authentic, rich in flavor, and reminded us of home. It’s clearly a family-owned and family-run restaurant, and that shows in the quality and care they put into every dish. Nothing felt rushed or mass-produced. Spoiler alert: the food can take some time to come out, but that’s because it’s freshly cooked with love and attention. If you’re in a hurry, this may not be the place — but if you value real taste and quality, have patience. It’s absolutely worth the wait. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for genuine Indian food that doesn’t compromise on authenticity.

Delicious authentic Indian restaurant! Would definitely recommend it. Really enjoyed their chicken masala and lamb curry. The naans were also really good. Good portion as well. Pretty good food and price in a small town. They only have a few tables so there might be a short wait.
