ITSO VEGAN

This establishment has been here for 8 years and I’m just now trying it! I stay far from here so it’s uncommon to be in the dfw area. This is more of a unique vegan soul food type of place and I enjoyed my visit. I will say The Vhilly Cheesesteak was better than the Cheesy Chicken Sandwich. The bowl of cabbage was very flavorful. The flavors and texture of the Vhilly cheesesteak sandwich worked well together and made for an enjoyable meal. The other sandwich was good too but just didn’t hit the spot like Vhilly did. The Mac and cheese they make is delish! The fresh sweet tea they brew is good however is it VERY sweet so I had to half & half that. I really wanted to try the vegan fish sandwich but that’s only served on Friday and Saturday so I’ll have to come back for that.

While the food was very good, I was disappointed with the presentation and service. Despite ordering my food for dine in, I received everything in a styrofoam container with plastic utensils. I would typically expect a vegan restaurant to be more environmentally friendly! The service was also strange. There’s no clear instruction on how to order when you walk in. I ordered at a kiosk but then an employee brought me my food from the kitchen. I also had to ask for a cup despite drinks being self serve. I would encourage the owner to focus more on creating a memorable experience for guests since the food is already good.
