And well yes! My mom and I had the meat and veggie combo #2, baklava, a few coffees. It was all really great. Also I thought the pricing was pretty good, esp for the huge portions (had leftovers). I think it was ~40 for everything.

I was craving Ethiopian food, and Jebena Café kept popping up on Seattle’s “best of” lists, so naturally my second brain aka my stomach led me there. The place is quite small, and I’ll be honest, the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit shady. I even hesitated for a moment after parking. But once I stepped inside, the space was squeaky clean and I was warmly welcomed by the owner. We ordered the vegetarian combo, and the sides were flavorful, fresh, and subtle on the palate. It’s not the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely better than many spots around town. The ingredients looked fresh and tasted crisp, which I really appreciated. They do close early, so make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing. I also ordered a samosa, hoping it would beat the ones from Whole Foods, but unfortunately it leaned more toward the inedible side. The mint chutney was fine, nothing exceptional. Would I come back? Probably not. Is it worth trying? Yes. It’s easy on the wallet, so if you’re craving Ethiopian, it’s a decent spot to try once. It’s a 3.5 for me 😐

Family run cozy place, but authentic Ethiopian food. Nice vegetarian options, healthy and flavorful food. If you have not tried Ethiopian cuisine yet, it is must try.
