We were really looking forward to trying this place, but left really not feeling it. We went in early in the afternoon & sat at the bar. We had 4 dishes, the crab ragoon , was really disappointing, as there really wasnt much filling in them. The steak in the salad we ordered, which was a $7 upcharge was very hard and chewy & lacked any seasoning or flavor. However I really enjoyed the Volcano sushi & the brussel sprouts. Even though they were just the outside of the sprouts, they were crispy and good. Richard the bartender was very polite and attentive.

I have waited for Kai Restaurant ever since I saw that they were opening up on River St and Galena. Richard who is the bartender waited on my table and he brought a very wonderful welcoming smile and service. I would definitely go just for that again. The food and drink experience was fantastic as well as delicious. Looking forward to going again.

I used to love Leilani's which was the previous restaurant at this location so I had to try Kai's. Both my friend and I shared the gyozas. They were good, but I really enjoyed the sauce that accompanied it. We both decided on the steak with the potatoes and carrots. I love carrots and if they're too hard, it diminishes my experience. I was happy to say they were very good and so was the steak. I was pleasantly surprised that it was $33 for a steak dinner that also came with your choice of rice. I forgot our servers name, but she was a doll. Very sweet and attentive.If you're undecided about coming here, I highly recommend it.
