Came here with so much expectations, but gotta admit I’m disappointed Starting from the moment we went in, there was terrible sewage smell, obviously they had big plumbing problems that day (02/22/2026) which ruined the whole experience. They have very nice ambience, but to have that terrible smell while sitting eating just ruins everything! Service was little slow. It took ~15 minutes just to get the drinks! Which should be much quicker than that (they weren’t busy, half seats were empty the day I went). I got the spicy pina, which is okay, 07/10. But has little to no alcohol in it really For appetizer, we got the hummus, kebabs and pita which was AMAZING, 10/10, and is the only thing I truly enjoyed about my visit here For the main course, we both ordered the lobster pasta. It tasted so fishy! Which is extremely odd for lobsters to taste fishy! Not sure how they managed to make it taste that fishy!!! 3/10, and I’m generous with that rating. For desert, we ordered the chocolate thing which is multiple layers of lots of things that are really challenging to describe, but it was decent overall, 7.5/10 Overall, I was expecting much better experience than what I had!

We had a lovely dinner last night at Kala Baja Med. Our server, Itzel, was excellent. I honestly had not experienced such attentive service in El Paso in a while, so it was a very pleasant surprise. She was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Two of my siblings are vegan, so we had called ahead to ask if plant based options would be possible, and they said yes. When we arrived, we were told that the chef would personally come to the table to speak with us about what he could prepare. When the chef arrived, he introduced himself and asked my siblings what vegetables they enjoyed. He then proceeded to imagine a dish for them on the spot, which we were very excited about. The dish arrived beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. As for the rest of us, we ordered the ribeye, the mussels which came with a large piece of sourdough bread, the wagyu burger, the tomato salad, the hummus, and the guacamole. For dessert we tried the three desserts on the menu. The pastry chef personally brought them to the table and took the time to explain the inspiration behind each one, along with the ingredients and preparation. They were true works of art and tasted just as impressive as they looked. The pastry chef also prepared a delicious vegan sorbet plate for my siblings, which was delightful. We will definitely be returning. Out of everything we ordered, the hummus and the mussels were my favorite dishes. We are happy to have a new spot that clearly strives for excellence and has passionate people working in the kitchen. I look forward to seeing the new additions to the menu in the coming days.

Went on opening weekend and had an amazing time. Really good ambience, vibes, and service. I really dig the new architecture and lighting setup they have, and really chill atmosphere, really good for a date night or just hang out with friends. Coming in, the staff were incredibly nice to me, introducing themselves and always being attentive and responsive. I could see the floor managers moving around and helping everyone and running things smoothly. I ordered the Baja Tacos, and they were delicious. The sauce had the perfect combination of acidity and flavor that made me crave for more. I seriously could have gotten a full order of these if offered on the menu. I also had the lobster pasta, which was very light and flavorful. These types of dishes are usually very overwhelming, but this one really got it right when it came to the combination of ingredients. I could taste them all individually and they would mix up and come together in my mouth. I also ordered a pistachio ice cream bar for dessert, it was so good that I couldn’t even take a picture, despite of how pretty it looked. It was nutty, sweet, with a hint of bitterness that was just incredible. My compliments to the dessert chef. Overall, this place really matched my expectations. When I heard 3 Michelin Star chefs would open a restaurant in El Paso, the bar is obviously set very high, but this is an amazing start for the restaurant, and I will definitely come back.
