Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My husband and I recently celebrated our 2nd anniversary at Kiln while visiting family in Cleveland, and we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. Being foodies from Dallas, we were excited to explore the culinary scene in this vibrant city, and Kiln did not disappoint! The concept of shareable plates was perfect for us; we spent the evening sampling a variety of dishes and wishing we had more people at the table to try even more of the menu. We kicked off our meal with the Roasted Candy Striped Beets—absolutely a must-try! Be sure to have all the flavors in one bite to fully appreciate the greatness of this dish. Next up, the mushroom tartlets were delightful, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Livers were a decadent treat that we thoroughly enjoyed. We rounded out our selections with the Stuffed Cabbage, which paired beautifully with the Lamb Shank—an excellent choice that added to our unforgettable meal. We also had a lovely wine from Stolpman Vineyards, La Cuadrilla, which complemented our dishes wonderfully. For dessert, we tried the Local Apple Crisp, a vegan dish that was good but could have benefited from a bit of fat to bind the topping properly and achieve the crispness typically expected in a classic apple crisp; it ended up being more of a dry crumble. Overall, we absolutely loved our experience at Kiln and are already looking forward to our next visit. If you find yourself in Cleveland, make sure to check this gem out—you won’t regret it!

Very soft fresh atmosphere with delicious food. It was very intimate but also an awesome place so share plates amongst friends and family. I throughoughly enjoy small plate restaurants since I can never seem to figure out what I want to order. The wine menu was just enough and the server had amazing suggestions for pairings. All in all we had a great time and left more than satisfied. They even gave us an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie as a parting treat!

Kiln was a fantastic experience. Drinks were on point, I had the #6 cocktail which is essentially a negroni, both bitter and sweet. Had 4 other dishes, all of which were sauced and plated perfectly, with detail and distinction of flavor. Finished it all up with Baked Alaska, which was the best dessert I've ever had. This is one of the greats in Cleveland.
