Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

This is a really good place to eat at. The waitresses are friendly , professional and good at their job! Food was good and arrived pretty quickly! We ate here for breakfast! Only thing is when they asked if I needed anything else, I replied with “only a million bucks” and they told me I had to eat my French toast first. 😂😂

I'm not sure how this place rated a 4.6. I was looking forward to a nice lunch, just visiting Jacksonville for the first time. We stopped at Kim's. It was not busy at all when we got there. A large group in the back had been served and there were 3 tables including ours with customers either waiting to be served or have their order taken. It was quite a bit of time before anyone brought us menus and water. You couldn't miss us, we were next to the other tables with customers. She finally came over with menus and a little later took our order. 2 double cheeseburgers and 1 breaded tenderloin open sandwich. The special was breaded porkchops. I say this because we were charged 2.00 extra for the breaded tenderloin that looked to me like 2 porkchops. We ordered waters and 1 cup of coffee. The waitress was alright. She wasn't rude. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time along with the check. I guess we should have known then she wasn't coming back. My food was not even warm, but I was not going to send it back, I've seen too many videos on that...the others said their cheeseburgers were okay, but no pickle, onion, tomatoes or lettuce. And no waitress. I did eat a little bit of my lunch. The potatoes are real, no instant stuff. That was good. The pork chop was okay, it would have been better hot. No one ever came back to give a coffee refill or to ask if the food was okay. Yes, I would have said something, but no I would not have sent it back. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years and I'm willing to overlook a lot of things, I get it. What I didn't get at Kim's was good service or food.

Kim’s is the most authentic Korean restaurant in Jacksonville. Ms. Kim is extremely engaging and has a mother-like care for her customers and her cooking. Right when you walk in the door, she makes sure that you are taken care of just like you are in a local Korean home. From the start, the banchan is amazing and when asked for more, Ms. Kim gives generous second orders. The main courses are all hearty and will leave you pleasantly full. You will not regret your time here. 5 stars.
