Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Great experience at Kimono! I love hibachi. I don't eat sushi, so I can't review it. But the hibachi was wonderful. I got the filet steak, and it was fabulous! Cost for lunch was only $15, so great value for the quality and quantity of food. I did order my veggies as zucchini only. Steak was tender and cooked just right, with plenty of it. Zucchini was cooked just right, firm, but not soggy or stiff, and seasoned nice. Rice was awesome. Came with choice of soup or salad. Plenty of food and great price. Good service, and clean. Definitely try it!

It was an excellent experience for my first time with Japanese dining. It was my friends birthday, and our waitress was really nice. When you enter, there was a very cool waterfall and a pool filled with fish. We got seated and it had a nice atmosphere. After we got our food, my friend had a robotic cat sing happy birthday to her and she got fried ice cream. It was very fun, and I highly recommend it!

We did not do hibachi, only sushi. The sushi menu had quite a bit of variety and lots of creative combos. It was good, but there definitely places just as good with larger roll sizes without the upcharge for the upscale vibe of this restaurant. The attached photo is 3 separate orders-- my 9 year old ate two full rolls by herself, if that gives an idea of the size. There were not any vegetarian rolls on the menu. The ambiance is really nice, though. The entry makes it feel like a more upscale place, and there is a separate bar area from the main dining room. When we were walking back to the bathroom you could also see that they had private dinner rooms that you could reserve. All in all, it was a great place to grab a quick sushi lunch while in town. We didn't have a wait to be seated, but we got there around 11:15 right after they opened. It had gotten busier as we left and there were people waiting to be seated.
