KOL KOREAN BBQ

This place is an absolute gem! Tourists, if you fly in from Hobby Airport, stop here first! TLDR: -best apps: 육회 beef tartar, 양념게장 raw marinated crabs -best meats: 꽃살 boneless beef short ribs, 꽃등심, KOL ribeye, 박포갈비 pork belly ribs, 항정살 Pork Jowls -best drinks: K-Shawty, Makgulli with Honey comb - special mentions: 된찌 Beef Soybean Stew (100/10), 명이 & 고추 장아찌 pickled side dishes (50/10) We started off with the beef tartar which were nice and cold, marinated perfectly with that sweet and savory sauce; with some crispy seaweed chips and fresh pears to balance out the chewy texture. we also had the 떡볶이 (spicy ricecakes) and 양념게장(raw marinated crabs) which looked okay but tasted better than what I had in Korea! you also cannot skip the drinks because the K-shawty was dangerously good and they have 생막걸리 (korean ricewine) which you can add honey comb (they were out of this when i went, so I need to go back for this! Then came out the meats. We ordered the small beef combo and then ordered some pork on top of that for 2 adults and 2 kids. Their portions were bigger than some other KBBQ places so we were stuffed with this haha. my family loved especially the 박포갈비 (pork belly ribs) and the boneless beef short ribs. But I highly highly recommend their 된장찌개 (beef soy bean stew) because it was out of this world! I think they put beef ribeye meats in there cause they were so tender, and there were loads of it! I would come here and eat that and rice everyday if I could. it was THAT good. Also the side dishes were perfect and authentic. I love that they have 명이나물 (pickled victory onions) which is perfect pairing with pork, and that they give real wasabi to top the beef which is such an attention to detail! There is a saying in Korean You can tell which Kbbq place is the best by how good their sides and soybean stew tastes. because if they can do such unassuming dishes with perfection, the quality of the meats is going to be that much better and tastier! Overall, food was AMAZING and service was awesome! Don’t forget the soft serve ice cream at the end because it is not your typical buffet-style ice cream! It was milk soft serve and real chocolate soft serve! I am also so happy that there is an authentic Korean restaurant, that serves with that Korean 정 (heart/soul), in this not so korean part of town. I hope that this place will serve years and decades as a spot to celebrate many special occasions, fill hungry stomachs, and spread the Korean 정 and culture!

Tried this newly opened Korean BBQ and I’m honestly blown away 🤤🔥 They grill everything over real charcoal, and you can taste the difference immediately… the meat is unbelievably juicy, tender, and packed with that perfect smoky flavor. And you can tell the meat is super fresh 🥩🥩 Plus, the servers cook everything for you with perfect timing, so you just sit back, relax, and enjoy the whole experience 😍 The sides, the vibe, the quality—everything was on point. Houston finally got a legit spot like this. Already planning my next visit 👌 don’t sleep on this place!
