I had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time at La Yaroa in Norfolk. The food was absolutely incredible — so flavorful, fresh, and truly authentic Island comfort food. Every bite tasted amazing and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve. Our server Alexa made the whole experience even better. She was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming, constantly checking on us and making sure everything was perfect. Her energy and kindness made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time there. The portions were generous, the flavors were amazing, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. If you’re looking for real Spanish food done right, this place is a must. Between the outstanding food and Alexa’s phenomenal service, I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend!

We ordered on Uber Eats 45 minutes ahead of time and when we arrived the food was not ready yet. When we walked in no one greeted us acknowledged us or made eye contact and at least 3 employees passed by. A simple "we will be right with you" goes a long way. We waited at least another 20 minutes before the food was ready. We got to the car to make sure we had everything. We did not. The pasteles were missing. We went back inside and asked for the pasteles we ordered and paid for. They said they didn't have any BUT NEVER TOLD US ANYTHING. Like what the heck? You know an item is missing but say absolutely nothing?? The woman we spoke to said they only have them sometimes and seemed to have no idea about their menu. We asked for a refund and you would think we asked for something insane because no one had any idea of what to do to refund us maybe that's why they didn't want to tell us they had none. During Christmas time mind you. The food is good. I would say it's more Dominican than Puerto Rican. I still haven't received a refund. If they can get it together customer service wise and getting food out in a timely manner I think it has a lot of potential to be a great place especially since the food is good. But for right now if ld recommend checking out other places. Edit- I don't see any other way to respond to the business comment so I'm putting it here. The order name was Sam.
