Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

BE CAREFUL IF YOU'RE VEGAN! Edit: i just found out that the banana nut bread I ate Saturday and lemon loaf I ate today weren't vegan. The labeling at this restaurant is very confusing to be honest. They call themselves a plant based restaurant and it says vegan and gluten free but you have to check what is what. Today I ordered a smoothie and I checked to make sure that the protein powder is vegan. Thats not specified on the menu. Then I ordered the lemon loaf and I wish the employee mentioned it isn't vegan??? I had JUST asked to make sure what I ordered was vegan so a heads up would be nice that I asked for something thats not vegan!! Same thing on Saturday, ordered the tostadas and specified vegan and then ordered the banana nut loaf and the lady did not tell me it's not vegan! I just realized from looking at my emailed receipt which lists eggs in both! I've been vegan for 10 years. This is very disappointing. I don't think they should use the words plant based (on their website) and I'm pretty sure the physical menu under the name today said vegetarian vegan gluten free bakery (or something to that nature). Should be specific "organic with options for vegan and gluten free" so that customers can be more careful. When I was looking at the items in the refrigerated section, there's no list of ingredients either so you cant even check if it fits your needs. I was also reading reviews before adding this place to my list and people in reviews call this place vegan. Seems to be confusion and honestly I hope everyone is eating what their diet allows without making mistakes. Was very excited to try this place. In a city with lots of vegan soul food/fried options, I love to find a place with much healthier/fresher options! I had the tostada, which was incredible. Really really fresh and yummy. I wish I could have tried one of the smoothies as well. I tried the banana bread and WOW! I've never had a gluten free vegan bread like that that's so moist. I'm curious if they use applesauce for it. It was really good. My gluten free friend loved the banana bread and his smoothie as well. Nice to have a place with both options for all kinds of dietary restrictions. Prices are reasonable. Staff was nice. The food didn't come out super quick so be ready to wait a little. Apparently that's a NOLA thing! Highly recommend

Wow wow wow!!! The food here is outstanding! Anyone with food restrictions, you will love this place. I’m gluten free and there are lots of options, all of which are amazing. I had the waffles which were insanely delicious!!! Seriously anything you buy here will be fantastic. Highly highly recommend.

Such a pretty cafe! We had a great lunch at Lamara Coffee & Kitchen. I love their plant based menu. Tried their burger with the house-made bean patty and it was delicious. One thing I hope they'll do is offer ketchup!! The coffee was also perfect. Staff is kind and helpful. Service was quite fast. We sat inside as it was a hot day but their outside seating area looks amazing. I'll be back!
