We decided to try this place on our way from St. Simon’s Island back home to NYC. We usually stop overnight in Rocky Mount, NC and go to our favorite Mexican place but last night we chose Lilyann’s and what a great choice it turned out to be. For starters, there was a live saxophonist playing smooth jazz that set the mood for a perfect delicious dinner vibe. We ordered the risotto as an appetizer and it was perfectly creamy with flavorful pecorino cheese. Then, we moved onto 2 wedge salads that I would argue was the best I’d ever had. The dressing was so tasty, I literally scaled the plate clean of it and ate every last bit of the salad and it’s accoutrements which included crispy bacon, and tiny battered and fried onions with charred cherry tomatoes and plenty of smoked blue cheese. Truly exquisite salad that I could eat every day of the week. Next came the mains. Probably the best and leanest short rib I’ve ever experienced in a red wine jus and accompanied by roasted rosemary potatoes and freshly sautéed haricots verts. The steak frites also came in at one of the best we’ve ever had and came with a mound of freshly fried truffle-Parmesan fries. We ended with a colossal piece of chocolate cake with a hot chocolate espresso pour over. We highly recommend this place to everyone. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you Lillyann’s, for a wonderful experience!

This week a client mentioned, Lilyann's Steakhouse in Rocky Mount, Nc. After today’s photo session - that’s exactly where I went. The ambiance is a sigh of relief, loved seeing the waitresses not in the typical white button downs. They were in gingham button downs with a tie to match, hair slicked back & made eye contact with every conversation. (I mention that bc that seems like a thing from the past) Dinner was impeccable, presentation was beautiful! Steak was cooked to perfection - wish it had a little more flavor, sides were delicious - Brussels were my favorite. We grabbed some dessert to go. Lydia was our server, who was wonderful & never let our glasses get less than half! (No photo of the steak as it wasn’t whole when received)

We got the crab dip as a starter. It was good. Good portion and good taste. For sides we got the risotto and brussel sprouts. Both were really good. The brussel sprouts were a little sweeter than we would have liked but overall very good. We split the tomahawk between 2 people. We thought since it was a 32 ounce steal it would have been plenty plus leftovers. We were wrong. The steak was cooked perfectly. It might could have used a little.more seasoning but overall a good flavor. Wr thought for the price we should have gotten more meat but the 32 ounces must have included the bone as well. Maybe this is our misunderstanding as this is our first tomahawk. We felt it would have been better to get 2 separate steaks and would have gotten the same amount of meat for a less price. Overall we were satisfied and would go back but will not get the tomahawk again.
