First thing first, the food is GREAT! If that's all you care about, stop reading. When I walked in, I was confused. There's a rope across that prevents you from walking any further, where the tables and a bar are. I had no idea what the people sitting at the table on the other side of the rope were doing, they were just talking but had no food. To the left is a booth that looks like someone would take your order, but no one is in it, just a bunch of what looks like junk. I stood there looking around trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do. After 3 minutes, a nice lady came from the back, stood on the opposite side of the rope, and stared at me without saying a word. After I asked if I'm supposed to tell her my takeout order from here, I ordered my food. She couldn't tell me what my total would be Then she went back to the back and I have no idea what the wait time is. Sat for a few minutes, then stepped outside because it's extremely HOT inside. After about twenty minutes (not too long for this type of place), the other nice lady came from the back to ring up my food, I paid & got my food, and walked out. Very strange experience. I do recommend the food, but my advice is to order takeout ahead. There are tables behind the rope, but it's more like "The lady in the neighborhood who sells plates" than an actual restaurant.

Sometimes you get tired of the same old food so Happened I passed Place I was a leery because of the parking lot and it’s location . But it’s really not their fault. The hospitality of the staff was very nice and friendly and made you feel very welcome. It was the first time I’ve been here and I ordered some dinner, and the food was very good. I would recommend this place to anybody either go sit in there or take it with you. I give them a thumbs up my food was very tasty and I come back they give you a large amount of food at a decent price thank you guys for great hospitality

My original thought was to pass on this establishment but I am glad I gave them the opportunity to satisfy my tastebuds. I ordered a small seafood gumbo and was NOT disappointed. The seafood gumbo consisted of tender shrimps, crabmeat, crabclaw, and andouille sausage, swimming in a spiced broth with a deep medium flavorful roux based stew bursting with fresh, ingredients like bell pepper, sweet and slippery texture of okra, and the essences of sassafras leaves over fluffy rice cooked to perfection. While devouring the gumbo...OMG.....I came across a full bayleaf that authenticated a bonefied Louisiana/Caribbean rooted chef prepared the gumbo. Also ordered a small rice and beans that had well cooked tenderly well seasoned, and flavorful thick red beans sauce over rice. My tastebuds was doubly satisfied and just when I though this meal couldn't get any better, I indulged myself in a slice of moist zesty lemon cake that took me way back to my very happy place when my Haitian grandma baked homemade cakes from scratch. The cost of a well prepared palette satisfying meal with desert was just a little over $13. A little bird said the chef responsible for making my day is Lorenzo! Keep the recipes my brother and continue finding joy in cooking for others! Definitely will be back on a regular basis. Lesson well learned to never underestimate as what may appear to be a hole in the wall is a diamond in the making!
