Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Great creole food in a great location. They have Indoor and outdoor seating, and a lot of variety on the menu. Our server was Whitney, she was friendly and provided outstanding service. We tried as many things as we could, a bit of everything; jambalaya, chicken and andouille gumbo, mussels, fried crawfish, and pecan crusted cornbread. Nothing we got disappointed. We even ordered a muffuletta to go and had the next day for lunch. They serve some cocktails and have a decent variety of beer. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out.

We were in Charleston and were looking for a place to eat lunch. We searched around and found Lola, a seafood restaurant, which had good reviews. We walked into the restaurant and saw it was pretty packed with people enjoying their lunch on a weekend. We checked in at the counter and got seated at our table. We got our menus and after checking them out, we ordered the Duck Fries, Fish Tacos, Jambalaya, and Tropical Storm. The Tropical Storm was a great drink to start our lunch. Then we got our lunch dishes, which were Duck Fries, Fish Tacos and Jambalaya. We started with duck fries, which were really good and cooked well. They had extra cheese, too. We then got the fish tacos and the jambalaya, and they looked delicious. However, when we ate them, they didn't really fit our taste and we were disappointed. A good seafood restaurant with great dishes and drinks.

Sooooo good!! Friendly staff all around. Everyone working there had a smile on. It smelled so good when we walked in too. Started with seafood gumbo and shrimp and grits for entree. No joke, it was the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had!! Will def be back next time I’m back in Charleston!
