What a gem! I came here with my husband and our 4 year old son on a Sunday at peak lunchtime and here are my takeaways. The renovation done since the previous visit is clean and elegant. The upscale vibes are reflected in a slightly higher priced menu. However, they do offer some bigger ticket items as well, such as mahi mahi tacos and many marinated meat options. This place is very kid friendly! They have a children's menu that offers both traditional Mexican fare and some classic American options. The kids meals are very affordable, however the website did list the drink and a dessert included in the cost as it is not, so note that change. The bathrooms were clean and they provided a lid on the cup for my son without an ask, what more could a parent want! The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, it seems they too are excited for this new venture. The food was wonderful! My husband got the marinated chicken in a burrito and found it to be pleasantly juicy. He also liked that they include guac for no extra charge. I got chorizo tacos Mexican style, and found the meat flavorful without being spicy. I requested a dairy free beans option and a double rice substitute for myself and my son and the waiter was happy to accommodate. The menu offers lunch specials as well as varying dietary needs. The vegetarian menu is incorporated in the main menu and robust. The website notes a GF menu, however we did not need one. Can't wait for this to become a North side staple!

The food was excellent with a great variety of options, but the service was extremely disappointing. We sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, despite the restaurant not being very busy. After ordering, it took 45 minutes for any food to arrive. Only 2 of our 5 dishes came out at first, and the remaining 3 didn’t show up until nearly 15 minutes later. The food itself was delicious, but the pacing was unacceptable. We repeatedly asked our server for additional drinks, only to watch him disappear into the kitchen or sit behind the bar without helping us. The same thing happened when we asked for our bill—it took more than 10 minutes while he stood around doing nothing. We even requested a box for leftovers, waited another 10 minutes, and finally gave up and left. The service was some of the most inconsiderate we’ve experienced. It’s unfortunate, because the food was great and the location is convenient, but we won’t be returning.
