Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The food is fantastic. It's authentic but without the spice, so if your sensitive to spicy food you should be fine. The level 4 in the cocunut curry wasn't as spicy as a shin ramen packet, to give an example. The flavor is addictive and had me doing a happy dance with every bite. I highly recommend the mango drink and chia tea too.

Maharaja in Downtown Issaquah is officially our new favorite Indian spot in the area! The restaurant is upscale and fancy with beautiful lighting and soft music, making it the perfect setting for a date night. Our waiter, Angel, was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect. As Texans, we found that a level 2 spice (out of 5) offered the perfect blend of heat and flavor for the chicken tikka masala, korma, and saag paneer. The garlic naan and rice were amazing, and the chai tea was hot, creamy, and delicious. The entire space is clean, new, and ideally located... we will definitely be back! P.S. They sell just the sauce/gravy on the side! We got some butter masala sauce to go.

Maharaja Cuisine of India delivered an outstanding experience. I regret not remembering how to spell my server’s name properly, yet both servers were incredible as one was from Nepal and the other of Sikh culture. They were humble, attentive, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond, even taking time to get to know me and thoughtfully answer my questions as I chose a plant-based meal to break a three-day fast. Their guidance was spot on. I ordered the vegetarian noodles, Aloo naan (potato-stuffed bread with herbs), a curry lentil soup, and a warm Indian tea with milk. Everything was flavorful, balanced, and comforting without feeling heavy which was exactly what I needed after fasting. Even the simple touches like lemon water and accommodating my use of chopsticks were handled effortlessly. The food was excellent. The service was sincere and personal. You can feel when people genuinely care and they did. Enjoy!!!
