The roast pork with rice and gandules amazing. The chicken stew with sweet plantains (theybwere very sweet) Amazing. The empanadas (beef & chicken) no pic ate them while driving home. But they were amazing!!! To have latin carribean in this area is not easy but this place is definitely filling that gap. If you're in the area I recommend you pass by and give them a try they won't disappoint.

Mama Dee’s Empanadas is a standout in Sayreville. We ordered the beef, chicken, mac and cheese, cheese steak, Cuban, and dessert empanadas, and every one hit the mark. They were flaky and crisp without being greasy, with great flavor and texture all around. We also had the pernil with yellow rice, which was really well done and packed with flavor as well. The yucca fries were nice and crispy and topped with a garlic butter sauce that was tasty, though just a little on the oily side. Overall, this is authentic Puerto Rican food with a few modern touches, and it’s done right. Everything tasted fresh and delicious.The employees were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even better. I definitely recommend ordering ahead since things sell out fast. We’ll for sure be coming back.

Today, my siblings and I visited this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our dad’s heavenly birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff were kind and friendly and the food…AUTHENTIC Puerto Rican dishes , which all were absolutely delicious. Every bite reminded us of the comfort and love of home cooking. We were grateful to be able to honor our dad’s memory with such a meaningful meal. Thank you for making this day extra special. We’ll definitely be back!
