Mandala Restaurant is truly one of the best places in Anchorage, Alaska for Indian and Nepalese vegetarian food. I visited in April, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. As the only vegetarian-focused place, it really stands out with its flavorful and authentic dishes. The Bombay aloo was perfectly spiced, the samosas were crispy and fresh, and the dal makhani was rich, creamy, and comforting. The hot, amazing roti was a highlight and paired beautifully with the curries. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of traditional flavors. Along with the incredible food, the restaurant has a great ambience that feels warm, calm, and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations and making sure we had a great experience. If you’re looking for amazing vegetarian Indian and Nepalese food in Anchorage, Mandala Restaurant is a must-visit.

Honestly one of the most wholesome and comforting restaurants in Anchorage. If you’re looking to escape the cold, not only will the food warm you up but the atmosphere will also. We got the thakari and achari gravy with lamb and of course the chicken momos to start. I hope more people learn about this place because they truly deserve it. I know I’ll be telling everyone how amazing it is!

We had a wonderful meal at Mandala, ordering Papadi Chaat, Dahi Vada, Rajma, Aloo Gobi, Naan, rice, and Gulab Jamun. What stood out was the balance in flavor — not your typical heavy, greasy restaurant fare, but more like soulful, home-cooked food. The Papadi Chaat and Dahi Vada were among the best we’ve had. Chef Sanjay personally checked in with guests, clearly passionate and invested in the experience. The serving staff was equally warm and welcoming. Highly recommended if you're craving a genuinely good Indian meal in Anchorage.
