Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The service and food were amazing! The truffle fries were thick and crispy and paired so well with their dipping sauce. It was such a good deal for the amount and taste for only $10! Then Honey Patch Squash was so good also! The savory flavor combo was so tasty for a squash dish and it was plated so beautifully! Our favorite of it all was the 14 day aged duck breast and the second place was the Wagyu. We finished everything on our plates and will be back!

Mane Kitchen and Cocktails is exactly what downtown Santa Cruz has been waiting for. It is easily my new favorite restaurant in town and a much-needed addition to the neighborhood. The vibe is absolutely perfect for a date night—classy, great music, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming. I originally came in to support Julie, who was my favorite bartender at the Red Room and is now one of the owners here. She has done an amazing job; the space is beautiful, and the energy is spot on. The service is top-tier. The hostess, bartenders, and wait staff are all super friendly and work together to create an amazing experience. You can tell they really care about their guests. As for the menu, everything is excellent. Tonight I had the Leather Bound Book, which is incredible—the burnt rosemary gives it such a unique, smoky aroma. For food, the Mane Burger is a must-order. The Wagyu beef blend with the bordelaise sauce is rich and flavorful; it’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in the area. If you’re looking for amazing cocktails, delicious food, and a perfect night out, you have to try this place. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing and I would highly recommend checking it out if you'd like a culinary treat. We ordered the liver pate, wedge salad, duck and cacio pepe. The liver pate alone, hands down the most interesting thing I've eaten all year. Would pay for a gallon bucket that I could just eat at home. The depth and layers of flavor were insane. The duck was delicious and so is the cacio pepe, the salad was good, perhaps slightly overdressed. The biggest area for growth for this business would be the cocktails. Espresso Martini was standard, they had a drink that sounded like come on the floor that was overly floral. But we see what you were trying to do there. The only reason I say this is because cocktails is in the name of the business. But in terms of culinary adventure, this is a must experience in Santa Cruz.
