I’m so glad we took a detour downtown for this lil historic gem! I had never had a Maid-Rite sandwich before (meat simmered with ingredients like beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and onions, giving it a juicy, savory flavor without being saucy) and I know this won’t be the last time. The root beer and onion rings are so good, we ordered more. We especially love the unique sauces served with the onion rings. The restaurant has lots of seating, a cute gift shop, including a cooler full of root beer you can buy for the road. The restaurant is easy walking distance from other historic Mark Twain locations in Hannibal.

Pretty good experience here. The best thing is the root beer, I'm a bit of a craft root beer snob. This is probably in the top 10 best I've had. The burger I had was the MO burger (I think) with fries. Burger has BBQ on it. It was good, not fantastic. Staff was attentive.

Most definitely had to try the root beer here! Definitely a great experience as the root beer was flavorable as well as not over powering and also being served in a frosted mug was even better. The food here is very delicious as I was a repeat customer as well as buying a various amounts of Bottled drinks available. A case of the root beer was well worth it too. The onion rings were one of the best I have ever had a long with the dipping sauce.
