Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Where do I start… I’ll begin with the positives. I ordered the Fish of the Day (Swai), and it was fried to perfection—crispy, well-seasoned, and flavorful. My only disappointment was receiving just one piece of fish; I’ve never been served a fish dinner with only a single piece before. I ordered two sides: greens and potato salad, and unfortunately, both were an extreme letdown. The potato salad had a very strong, overpowering taste that I couldn’t quite identify, but it completely threw off the dish. The greens were canned and tasted extremely sour. I was also given macaroni and cheese as a courtesy. Visually, I was surprised it was even served as-is, but I still tried it—and sadly, it was not good. Overall, I left very disappointed. On top of the food issues, the greeting upon entering wasn’t welcoming. There was no “Hi” or “How are you?”—just a blunt “here or to go?” Despite this experience, I’m still open to trying other items on the menu and truly hope this was an off day. My intention with this review is to help, not hurt. We absolutely need more Black-owned businesses to thrive—but consistency, quality, and service matter just as much. Thank you.

My first time eating here and it was excellent. My buddy and I came for lunch. We both ordered the blackened fish and two sides. The fish was perfectly cooked and the blackening spices were delicious. I had Mac&cheese and candied yams for sides. Both are great. I definitely recommend and will return to try the fried chicken.

My favorite place to eat when i come into Akron. The food is absolutely AMAZING! The staff are amazing people as well, the hospitality doesn't compare, everyone in there is super nice people and even though they were booked and reserved, the chef came out and asked what we wanted to eat sat us down made our food and brought it to us! Again, this place is a true gem and i hope they stay there forever. God bless all the people that work in there. Thank you so much for an awesome experience every time!
